ArcheAge Chronicles Demo Guide (Steam Next Fest)
ArcheAge Chronicles has a free demo open to everyone during Steam Next Fest, October 2026. It's the best chance to try the game before Early Access. Here are the dates, how to get in and what's included. Sources: XLGAMES press release, the official Steam post on PvP and our demo news.
Demo dates and times
- Start: Sunday, October 19, 2026, 10:00 AM PDT (17:00 UTC).
- End: Monday, October 26, 2026, 10:00 AM PDT (17:00 UTC).
In Korea the demo runs October 20–27.
How to play the demo
- Have (or create) a Steam account. No sign-up or invitation needed.
- Open the ArcheAge Chronicles Steam page.
- Click "Download Demo" once it's live on October 19.
- Install and play until October 26.

What's in the demo
According to XLGAMES, the demo includes the previous network test content plus:
- A new dungeon.
- PvP for the first time in a public test. What XLGAMES confirms in its Steam post (more in let's talk PvP in ArcheAge Chronicles):
- Each zone is split into channels of about 100 players; that's a design choice, not a server limit.
- Standard channels: players can't attack each other at all.
- PvP channels: everyone can attack you except your party and guild members. Same zone, same monsters and Quests.
- Switch channels at a Nui Statue; a cooldown stops you hopping to safety mid-fight.
- Monsters give 10 to 15% bonus EXP in PvP channels; the numbers may still change.
- PvP channels are unlocked from the very start of the demo, with no story requirement.
- All four classes are playable, each with two of their weapons.
- You can parry ranged attacks and reflect them back.
- Defeating another player gives no rewards yet, but there's a kill log and PvP achievements.
- Future plans, not promises: rankings and trophies likely after launch, and ideas such as trade runs through PvP channels and guilds fighting over trade posts.
- Four classes: Warrior, Ranger, Mage and Berserker. XLGAMES' press release describes four combat styles (Battlerage, Archery, Sorcery and Defense).
Combat is about reading enemy movements and deciding moment to moment when to dodge, parry and attack.
