Dark Blades

“Once, deserters,” according to @ArcheAgeChron. Now they command in the shadows of Auroria: they plunder, they seal lethal alliances, and they gather the underworld of the continent under a single banner, which the post calls ruthless.

The banner is a sword from which hangs a dark, torn cloth, with a red sign.

Uniform

There is a combat uniform that not just anyone may wear. It is not only clothing: it is the mark of their internal order. Permission is reserved for whoever is capable of commanding an entire unit. The post asks which unit those warriors belong to and what ranks they hold, and it does not answer.

Relationship with Axas

An earlier post places Axas, a soldier of the Repentant Shadows during the 25-Year War, as guard of the Dark Blade armory in Whalebone Graveyard. That text names the armory; it does not say that Axas is a Dark Blade.

What the source does not say

The post does not say from whom they deserted, nor when, nor what banner they left behind.
